Baby girl clothes

Ahhh Polyvore. You are fun. But I don’t have a lot of time for you lately, mostly due to a certain 3 month old little girl of my acquaintance. I thought I’d combine these two things and display the sorts of things I put Daisy in. She wears a lot of blue and neutrals and red… and pink, of course. Girl clothes are fun, I admit it!

when all else fails: Polyvore.

winter clothes, la la la

i haven’t played around with Polyvore for a while. i have a love/hate relationship with fashion. i do love it for its prettiness; the fantasy of being the type of person who wears beautiful and interesting outfits is certainly a pleasant one, but at the end of the day i have so many more important things in my life. important to me, anyway. travel, food, my family, my little home, my creative dreams, et cetera. you know what i mean?
but thinking about clothes and putting together outfits sure is a lot of fun. here are a couple of sets i’ve made. the first one is for me, and the second is for Tim (i’m very generous in my Polyvore-ing). i actually adooooore several of the included items (grey knit by See by Chloe, 3.1 Phillip Lim skirt, Paper plane bag) but i’m not in the market for $500 jumpers any time soon, unfortunately.

what i would like to be wearing this coming Autumn

early autumn - neutrals + purple
early autumn – neutrals + purple – by lindseyclare on Polyvore.com

it’s only 20 degrees today. twenty! and it’ll be even colder by the end of the week. after 40-something on the weekend, i am completely embracing this change. plus the fact that it will help (slightly) the firefighting that’s still going on.

i can’t help being a future-thinker. i love that we’re coming to the end of summer, because next up is Autumn and that means the following will start to appear in my days:

  • the holy trinity of cool weather clothes (scarves + tights + boots)
  • soups and mash and hot Milo
  • trips up to the Blue Mountains to have hot chocolate and see the red leaves
  • lovely thick linen bed sheets
  • and various other nice wintery things.

in honour of Autumn, i created the above wish list of things i would like (no, love) to be wearing this Autumn. in actuality, i will be thrilled if i am able to get a new pair of boots (i’ve wanted tan boots for years now!) and maybe a new cardi or jacket. that would be great.

what are your favourite bits about the cooler months?

wedding outfits

i'm attending two different weddings in early December, and i can't wait, because i love weddings! the pretty dresses, the flowers, the speeches, the fancy food – it's all very good fun.

i'm vaguely organised in regards to the ever important issue of What To Wear, but a little imagination never goes astray, so here's a visual wishlist of what i would like to be wearing:

Things I Love – Thursday 4th September 2008

+ Lauren Moffatt – totally my new favourite designer. These are clothes I would actually wear!
[found via Creature Comforts]

+ handbags I would actually carry

+ a great necklace. the simplicity makes it, don’t you think?

+ I think this counts as fashion? the cutest decals i’ve ever seen. i love everything Kat does!

+ Threadless is on sale! i am still happily wearing my two Threadless tees, but i do have my eyes on these: Roughin’ It, Wingtips (this is the one i bought for my nephew Ryan last Christmas), So Lovely, and Puppet Ballet.

Springish

i haven't created a Polyvore set in a while. last night i had an URGE, so here is my idea of what i would love to be wearing this spring. it is immensely satisfying making these!

cmon spring, arrive now please!

Threadless!

I don’t often do big write ups for commerical companies because I am
soooo not in the business of encouraging people to Buy More Stuff, but
if I like something, I want to tell people about it. So. Do y’all know
about Threadless? Internerd things tend to spread around extremely
quickly, and this one’s been around for a while, but there’s got to be
some people out there who maybe have not heard of Threadless before.
This one’s for you!

Threadless is basically a website where you can buy tshirts. Their
point of difference is that all the tshirt designs are uploaded by the
public. Yes, anyone can potentially be a Threadless designer! The huge
and eclectic pool of artists means that you can find a massive range of
graphic and illustrative styles to choose from – there’s funny, there’s
cute, there’s simple, there’s ridiculously detailed, there’s sweet,
there’s sarcastic, and everything in between.

My own experience with Threadless has been very positive. I ordered a
couple of tshirts for my niece and nephew for Christmas last year. Here's Ryan wearing his (check out his oversized noggin' complete with bruise!):

And recently I bought a couple for myself, and one for the husband (you can see us above).
Here's a few others i wouldn't mind owning either: 1, 2, 3.

Their customer service is great, the shipping is very easonable, they have regular sales, and the shirts they use are sweatshop-free. Tick, tick, tick and tick.

Oh and p.s. Threadless now sell art prints of some of their designs too. I wouldn’t mind having this up on my wall:

friday night in red+white

friday night at home. what’s not to love?

i hope everyone has a most lovely weekend!

new shoes of periwinkleness

these are my new shoes. they’re periwinkle. which is really just a delighful word, isn’t it?

and this is a Polyvore set inspired by my new shoes. despite the colour difference on screen, those earrings are pretty much the perfect shade! but i was surprised at how few periwinkle items are available on Polyvore. maybe the fact that it reminds people of the colour of old ladies’ blue rinse hair has something to do with it…
